Don't forget that STEPS' excellent new single, Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well, is released tomorrow on enhanced CD and cassette, it also includes the fab bonus track, Bittersweet, that is written and performed on the Gold tour by the ever so lovely LISA SCOTT-LEE! In our opinions this is one of the best singles that STEPS hhave ever released and proves that they willbe around for a long time yet. Make sure you support them buying the single tomorrow!

STEPS TIPPED FOR THE TOP

Woolworths are predicting that STEPS will be entering Sunday's chart at No.1! If they do it would be brilliant and it would be especially great because here at STEPS Home UK we think that this is the best single the fab five have released in ages!
However this is just a predicition and they predicted that Hear'Say would go in at No.1 last week and they're only at No.4 so you still need to make sure that you go out and buy as many copies as you can! The CD is 3.99 and is exceelnt value as it contains Words Are No Enough, I know Him So Well, Bittersweet (which is a brilliant song written by Lisa!) and the vid for W.A.N.E

GOLD GOES 3X PLATINUM

STEPS greatest hits album Gold has already gone 3x platinum in the UK! It's sitting at No.6 in this weeks album charts, but it could move up again thanks to a promotion at WH Smiths. They have it on sale for 9.99 until this Sunday so if you don't already have it go and buy it today!

STEPPY STUFF

There's the usual updates to the site plus we're trying to get the lyrics for Bittersweet, but we're having a bit of trouble distinguishinh what STEPS are singing in some parts so if anyone could help us out send the lyrics to us at stepshomeuk@aol.com

STEPS will be travelling over to Belfast today for their gig there tomorrow night! No rest for the wicked eh!

CHRISTMAS WITH FAYE

You'll remember a few weeks back that we gave you deatils on how to enter a competition run by the BBC news show - North West Tonight, to win the chance to record a Christmas CD with FAYE and the Philamonic Orchestra. Well all the enteries are in and yesterday FAYE was in Manchester to judge who she thought should win the prize of a lifetime!
The winner will be revealed on tonights show at 6.30pm on BBC1 (regional) and will feature yet another chat with FAYE.
Yesterday FAYE chatted about she's coping with the Gold tour and how she's looking forward to playing in Manchester at the end of the month. We'll let you know how the winner gets on tomorrow.

SHOWTIME FOR STEPS

BBC1 is to show highlights of the Showtime At The Stadium concert which took place earlier this year. It featured pop acts including A1, Blue, Steps and S Club 7 performing songs from hit musicals. It will be shown on BBC1 at 2.50pm on Sunday, December 16. Recording artists such as Charlotte Church, Petula Clark, Midge Ure, Russell Watson and Heather Nova also took part. The concert took place at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 20. It raised money for BBC Children In Need and the Red Hot Aids charity. Highlights included A1's version of One Night In Bangkok and STEPS singing I Knew Him So Well both from Chess, plus Atomic Kitten's take on Macavity from Cats. The finale featured Charlotte Church singing You'll Never Walk Alone.

STEPPY STUFF

Ananova also reviewed the new single:Steps

Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well
Ebul/Jive
All five members get their fair share of vocal time on Words Are Not Enough, which sounds as polished as ever but also reveals a little more raw emotion. I Know Him So Well finds Faye and Claire taking on the Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson roles, for a faithful version of the hit from the classic musical, Chess.

A good review apart from the fact that LISA does the main share of vocals on I Know Him So Well and doesn't even get a mention!

A huge thankyou to all of you who helped us work out the lyrics to Bittersweet - it's so much easier when you have a few peoples help! They've been added to the lyrics page along with the lyrics to H's tour solo Believe.
Check the updates page for further info.

If you're going to see STEPS in Belfast tonight then have a brilliant time! And don't forget to send us your rebviews at stepshomeuk@aol.com
We've added more reviews from Newcastle and press review from Glasgow to the touyr special as well.

The votes are now all in for our 2001 STEPS Awrads - thank you to everyone who took part and voted. You can view the winning results by clicking the link on the front page!

STEPS SINGLE SALES SO FAR

STEPS are doing pretty well at the moment in the chart. However they're not doing as well as Woolworths predicted! They're currently at No.5 - they were predicted to enter at No.1. There's pretty tough competition in the charts at this time of year and theres always some unlikely candidate who manages to get to No.1. STEPS aren't too far behind disco diva Sophie Ellis-Bextor with Murder On The Dance Floor and Gold is still selling brilliantly - shifting approx another 10,000 copies this week!

CHRISTMAS CAROL COMPETITION WINNER REVEALED

The winner of the competition held by the BBC to records a Christmas CD with FAYE and the Philamonic orchestra is little Eleanor Sutton. At 8 years old she was the youngest contestant to be in the final and she wowed judges including FAYE with her version of Silent Night.
Eleanor and her Mum will be travelling to Wembley tomorrow night to meet STEPS and to watch their concert! We hope she has a great time!

JOHNNY GOES BACK TO HIS ROOTS

As we revealed a few weeks back LISA's fiance Johnny Shentall has left his band BOOM!, and we asked if anyone knew what projects he was working on, well now there's been sightings of him...Thanks to Matt who mailed us to tell us that Johnny is currently dancing for Sophie Ellis-Bextor and appeared on GM:TV with her on Monday morning! Dancing for a chart rival whatever next! lol

A range of Christmas cards autographed by celebrities are being auctioned online.
Participants include Steps, S Club 7, A1, Ant and Dec, and the judges from Pop Idol.
All proceeds will go to Woolworths Kids First which supports community-based children's projects nationwide.
The eBay sale is live on the site until December 10. (www.ebay.co.uk)
Woolworths Kids First manager Trevor Dahl said: "This auction on eBay is a once in a lifetime opportunity to receive a very special Christmas card this year.
"We are extremely grateful for the support of the celebrities involved and we look forward to some heated bidding for the cards so that even more funds will be raised for the charity this year."

STEPS MEANS HEINZ

The marketing gurus at planet STEPS have been working overtime, and come up with pasta shapes based on the band's dance moves.
The tins of Heinz pasta features six shapes - including a star from 'Tragedy', a dancing foot, a hand expression from 'One For Sorrow', a musical note and the word STEPS - in the traditional tomato sauce.
The band are currently on tour and their new single 'Words are not enough' is out this week.
(Radio One Online)

STEPPY STUFF

The new issue of Top Of The Pops is out now and includes the song words to Words Are Not Enough, it also has an excellent fun interview with all five STEPSters.

If you're going to see STEPS in Wembly tonight then have a fab time and don't forget to send your reviews in to stepshomeuk@aol.com

Teletext are predicting the new single will chart at No.2 on Sunday.

We'll be updating the tour section later with more reviews and making a few changes so check that out. We're also working on a new look for discography.

LISA FILLS US IN

Hi guys,
I'm just taking a quick break from our Gold Tour to get in touch with you.
Our new single, Words Are Not Enough, which is a double A-side with I Know Him So Well is out now in the shops. It has also got a song that I wrote myself called Bittersweet on it. I perform it as my solo on our tour and I'm very proud of it. I always feel so lucky at being able to perform my own songs for you all, something all five of us feel.
Speaking of the tour, it has gone very well so far! We've been having a wonderful time and have performed in Newcastle, Sheffield and Belfast. Everyone has been fabulous with people that have seen it telling us that they had a brilliant time. Which is great news as we're having a great time up on stage too!
This has got to be quick, but in case you haven't seen it already, here's the track-listing for our single:
1. Words Are Not Enough
2. I Know Him So Well
3. Bittersweet
4. Video to Words Are Not Enough
If you haven't been already I'll see you on one of the future dates on the tour. If you aren't able to make it don't worry as Sky Box Office will be showing the concert live from 7pm on December the 22nd!
I'll speak to you soon,
Love always,
LISA xx

STEPPY STUFF

LISA, FAYE and CLAIRE will be on the Saturday show tomorrow morning at 9.00am to perform the new single, I Know Him So Well.

Have a great time if you're going to see STEPS at Wembley tonight and don't forget to send us your review!

We'll be having a big update tomorrow and that will include the new issue of Talking Point.

DOTMUSIC REVIEW STEPS AT WEMBLEY

It's about a year since I first saw Steps. Unprepared mentally and physically I still bear the scars and so for the past six weeks I've been locked in a darkened room in Berkshire with no windows, food, water or bus fare home. My mission? To learn all the dance moves in time for the show. Am I ready? You bet. I've just got to wait for my Uncle Dave to pick me up.
As we arrive Wembley is in the giddying grip of mass hysteria as show time is imminent. There's just enough time to stop by the merchandise stall and collect a silver service Faye cutlery set, a snug fit H thong, Lee crystal decanter and accompanying tumbler.
We take our seats and the screams become deafening, the lights blinding, and suddenly the colour drains from Uncle Dave's cheeks. Three massive screens compliment the action; there are explosions, fireworks and the obligatory dance troupe to flesh things out. 'Tragedy', 'One For Sorrow', 'Here And Now' all whip things into a frenzy. Faye performs a pretty convincing R'n'B solo spot, all Noo Yoik attitood (sic), and H appears on a trapeze, hanging above the crowd, before Lisa flies above us all on her throne. Uncle Dave looks genuinely perturbed.
Along with the rest of the converts I dance, sing and remember exactly what pop was all about before the trial by TV cringe-a-thons of Pop Idol, before Popstars destroyed the illusion and boyblands (sic) like Blue took hold of the charts. You see, Steps come from Planet Pop. They aren't real or cool, they just landed on earth to spread cheesy grins and a kitsch naffness to all our lives. At first it was distinctly annoying, but now in an age where every Tom, Dick and Myleene is invited to have a go at this game they invoke feelings of nostalgia. And that's the secret, as Hear'Say's star starts to dim after a couple of months Steps are enjoying their fifth year at the top.
Album-plugging their way through the show with unnecessary regularity, they leave us worn out and completely skint after another hit packed medley. Uncle Dave runs screaming for the exit babbling something about shiny flying people and how he can take no more. Never mind, if the split rumours are true they'll no doubt all have disastrous solo careers and he won't have to take me again until the 2005 reunion show. Sleep tight Uncle Dave.

STEPPY STUFF

CD:UK had STEPS entering the charts at No.4 with their new double A side single Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well.
This isn't neccessarily the correct chart postion as it was judged on mid week sales figures.

Don't forget it's the Smash Hits Awards tomorrow and for the first time ever they're being shown on Channel 4 because BBC1 is doing the FA cup or something.
I hope you've all been voting like mad for STEPS and if you haven't shame on you!

The discography has been updated with a new look and navigation so hopefully that'll be ok. There'll also be other updates but check the what's new? page for more info.

STEPS FIRST EVER BAND IN HALL OF FAME

STEPS also made pop history by being the first ever band to be awarded with the Smash Hits Hall Of Fame award. The band who were at the awards ceremony in the London's Dockland Arena to pick up the award preiously performed a sensational version of their hit single Chain Reaction and stole the show with their outrageous set which featured CLAIRE, LISA and FAYE in their skimpiest outfits yet - dressed as extremely naughty nurses!

KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY

LISA wasn't the only SCOTT-LEE to return home tonight with a prestigious Smash Hits Award! Her younger brothers Anthony, Steve and Andy also won Best New Tour Act for their band 3SL.

WORDS ARE NOT ENOUGH/I KNOW HIM SO WELL ENTERS THE CHARTS

STEPS have entered the UK Top 10 at No.5 with their new single Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well.
They are the third highest new entry of the week behind The Sterophonics at No.4 and Sophie Ellis-Bextor at No2.

10.12.01
BACKSTAGE AT THE SMASH HITS AWARDS

KYLIE MINOGUE stormed off stage at last nights Smash Hits Awards because she didnt win a gong. But she still stole the show with her slinky red dress and sexy performance of No1 hit Cant Get You Out Of My Head as my picture on the above shows. An onlooker at the awards, at Londons Docklands Arena, said: She had a face like thunder and wouldnt even pose for the official picture with all the other artists. She was obviously annoyed at not winning. And she wasnt the only one in a bad mood. HEARSAYs KYM MARSH had a huge row with her boyfriend, EastEnder JACK RYDER.
She burst into tears as she came off stage but got little sympathy from bandmate MYLEENE KLASS, who said: I dont know whats wrong with her. Kym almost didnt perform because earlier in the day she collapsed in pain backstage and was treated by paramedics. Her spokesman said a recent operation was to blame. Other bands taking the stage included STEPS, BLUE and S CLUB 7. ATOMIC KITTEN also played and JENNY FROST had to sing with one hand behind her back to cover a split in her trousers.
The ceremony was hosted by Baby Spice EMMA BUNTON and Fives RITCHIE NEVILLE. A pyrotechnic accident caused a fire during rehearsals but no one was hurt.
(The Sun)

NAUGTHY BUT NURSE

The girls from STEPS sent temperatures soaring at yesterday's Smash Hits awards bash - by dressing up as sexy nurses.
FAYE, LISA and CLAIRE wore the sexy outfits to perform their hit Chain Reaction after winning three gongs.
The five piece band scooped Best Live Act, Best Female Haircut, and the magazine's Hall Of Fame honour.
(The Mirror)

WESTLIFE AND STEPS SCOOP SMASH HITS AWARDS

Westlife scooped two awards at today's Smash Hits Poll Winners Party in London. The Irish band won Best Band In The World and the Best Album award for their recent release, World Of Our Own.
Over 11,000 screaming fans packed into the London Arena to watch performances from STEPS, Samantha Mumba, Emma Bunton, Mis-Teeq and Blue.
STEPS also picked up two awards. They won Best Live Act and were also admitted to the Smash Hits Hall of Fame.
Kylie Minogue was snubbed in the awards failing to pick up a single gong. Kylie was beaten to the title of Best Female Artist by Britney Spears.
Blue staked their claim for pop glory by taking the title of Best Newcomer and sending the crowd wild every time they appeared or their name was mentioned.
Atomic Kitten collected the prize for Best Single for their smash hit Whole Again.
(worldpop)

POP RULES THE UK

As albums by our fave artists are always the perfect Christmas gift (hint hint) we're particularly looking forward to Christmas Day 2001, because so many of the biggest names on planet pop have released albums recently.
As a result pop is currently dominating the album chart leaving little room at the top for rock, indie, dance or old geezers who really should have given up years ago. Official pop icon Robbie Williams is ruling the roost while Blue, S Club 7, Westlife and STEPS are all battling it out for places in the Top 5.
Pop goddess Madonna and Five are also holding their own in the Top 10. But there's not enough room for everyone to do well and Hear'Say may be about to miss the Top 20 with their second album Everybody. That's a bit disappointing, as their debut release Popstars topped the chart earlier this year. But this time around they've faced a lot more competition so don't write 'em off just yet.
(Smash Hits)

STEPPY STUFF

The Who's Who Of Pop concert at the Albert Hall in which STEPS are hoping to top the bill sold out in less than 24 hours!

UK Garage newcomer Daniel Beddingfield has held onto the UK No 1 single for the second week running. Beddingfield's single, Gotta Get Thru This beat off the challenge of Sophie Ellis-Bextor who has the highest new entry on the singles chart at No 2 with Murder On The Dance Floor. Elsewhere the Stereophonics have a new entry at No 4 with Handbags & Gladrags while STEPS enter the chart at No 5 with their double A-sided single Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well.

STEPS IN MID AIR FOOD FIGHT

News has reached us that those five naughty STEPSters got into a lot of trouble on a recent flight when they decided to have a fight with some sticky toffee pudding! Apparently things got a bit out of hand and other passengers who were travelling with STEPS in the swish first class part of the plane complained to cabin staff about them. Who says rock and roll is dead!

CURTAINS UP FOR H

Back in April H STEPS revealed exclusively to TV Hits that he was hoping to appear in the West End musical, Godspell. Unforch, he's had to turn the role down but it's been snapped up by Robbies bezzie mate Jonathan Wilkes!
"I'm gutted," H told us. "But I'm not able to fit in with STEPS' hectic schedule for next year."
Jonathan is set to tread the boards alongside Declan Donnolley's girlfriend Claire Buckfield.

STEPS THANK THEIR FANS FOR AWARDS

A couple of BIG thank-you's to say to you guys.
Firstly, on Sunday the five of us were stunned and overjoyed when we found out that we had won 3 Smash Hits awards at the Pollwinners Party. We were all very, very excited as they were given to us, one of the biggest highlights of our career so far.
It means a great deal to us that you all took the time to vote for us. We won the new award for 'Hall Of Fame' and 'Best Live Act'. The 3rd award was the icing on the cake and was given to FAYE for having the 'Best Female Haircut' in the business. A night we will remember for the rest of our lives.
The second thank-you is for making our album Gold 4 x Platinum. It has now sold over 1 million copies in 8 weeks. Making it our fastest selling album ever! On top of this, the Smash Hits awards, our sell out Gold Tour and our 15th UK single going top 5 this is turning into a truly amazing year for all five of us.

Baby Spice Emma Bunton's new single is doing very poorly and is currently only at No.21, but Robbie Wlliams and Nicole Kidman look like they'll top the charts with their duet, a cover of Something Stupid.

STEPPY STUFF

In a general sense, we all know this dance addicted chart gang have had a pretty pukka pop career. But did ya know just how successful?
Well, let us fill you in. This new No.5 single is their 15th consecutive hit and their 14th consecutive Top 10 hit. It's also their 13th Top 5 hit in a row, a sequence bettered only by the Beatles, who reached the Top 5 with 17 in a row. STEPS and the Beatles in the same sentence. Who would have thought it? (Top Of The Pops)

STEPS will be on Top Of The Pops on Friday night to perform Words Are Not Enough.

There's a 3SL special over on Worldpop that some of you may be interested in. Also on the 3SL side of things there's an interview with the boys in the new issue of TV Hits were they talk about their big sister LISA being their manager!

STEPS are in Birmingham again tonight - keep your reviews coming in to us stepshomeuk@aol.com. Have a great time if you're going tonight

New Album Details

Here's some details from Jack of STEPS Official.com on STEPS' new album - called Step Two it marks the beginning of a new chapter in STEPS' career!

It sounds promising people.STEPS are going to be working with some fine producers on their next album, due for release May 2002. A pixie close to me tells me that some of these tracks will be popping up...

1: INTRO - yes, it's Step2 and it also has an intro, which starts fast and slows down to the pace of the first song.

2: Stay (S. Mac/W. Hector) - y'know, the Westlife people! This might not appeal to you but it will at least get radio play.

3: Left You Behind (Mirwais Ahmadzai) - this might just be the first single, think All Saints meets Madonna. Quite guitary, yet quite dancey. Not too fast and not too slow.

4: Don't Say You Love Me (Mirwais Ahmadzai/N. Young) - erm, hello? Aren't Steps songs supposed to be fast?

5: Strangers (F. Tozer/L. Evans/C. Porter/A. Carlsson) - That's more like it. This is a better "Here & Now".

6: Say The Words (I. Watkins/A. Frampton) - slushy number with lead vocals from H & Claire. Sound familiar?

7: Tonight (Mirwais Ahmadzai/L. Scott-Lee/I. Watkins) - DANCE ALERT! Best track by a mile. Fastest track too. This IS going to blow up in the charts when it's released, that's when, not if.

8: Don't Come Back To Me (F. Tozer/S. Mac/W. Hector) - what do you follow up the best track on the album with? Another amazing track of course! Faye shares the lead with Claire in this, which is always a good thing. It's a very chunky pop track, quite like something 'N Sync would release, only better - since it's Steps and all that.

9: A Little More Time (Topham/Twigg) - AUWCH! Sorry, but this is painful. Why have they inflicted a PWL track on us beside all these fancy producers? It really is bad, but it might not make the album if they find anything better...anything that is. It's a bit like a second rate "Summer Of Love".

10: Run To You (Mirwais Ahmadzai/C. Richards/I. Watkins) - Really good dance track. Loads of strange noises and distorted bits throughout. Makes up for the previous track, if that's at all possible!

11: Fine (C. Richards/F. Tozer/L.Scott-Lee) - really girly aggressive track aimed at boys who walk out. Quite a disco feeling in there, but not second rate "Stomp" eg. Baby Don't Dance - which by the way, has been scrapped as a single.

12: Boogie (L. Scott-Lee) - WOW! A Lisa solo, with the others joinging her in the chorus. This is a really fiery song which starts and stops - sounds strange but you will know what I'm talking about, it has that kind of jumpy rhythm. Superb.

13: No Rhyme, No Reason (Topham/Twigg) - no, No, NO! I said NO PWL! NONE! ZILCH! This is pure cheese from start to finish. Period.

14: Right From The Start (F. Tozer/L. Evans/C. Porter) - striking way to finish the album, with this little beauty. Thank god they didn't stop at #13.

So that's Step2. Some of the songs could change, in particular I'm hoping "A Little More Time" & track 13 are deleted. But the likes of "Left You Behind", "Tonight", "Fine" are sure to remain. I look forward to the release of this album, it is better than "Step One" & "Buzz" which I feel is an achievement in itself. I think GOLD was used to throw us, since they said they wouldn't alienate us. Some of this isn't classic Steps, but for instance "Tonight" is sooo catchy you almost forget about LTOMM, Stomp etc.

STEPS Beat The Spice Girls In Book Of Records

STEPS have overtaken the Spice Girls in the list of most successful acts in the British charts. They have gone to number 97 in the chart compiled by the Guineess Book Of Hit Singles. The ratings are based on how many weeks artists have spent in the charts. The Spice Girls have slipped out of the Top 100 to number 109, reports the Daily Express. Madonna has overtaken Diana Ross to go to number five, while Kylie Minogue has risen to number 40 and U2 have climbed to number 45. Elvis Presley remains number one, with Cliff Richard at two, The Shadows at three and Elton John at four. The Beatles are in ninth position.

STEPS are currently in Cardiff in South Wales so all you wonderful Welsh people get your reviews into us now and if you're going to see them tonight have a fab dabby dozy time!

On yesterdays CD:UK STEPS had dropped out of the Top 10 with their new single Words Are Not Enough/I Know Him So Well - lets hope this isn't reflected in todays official chart!

A Message From Lee

Hello!
I just wanted to drop you all a line to keep you up to date with the latest happenings in our STEPS-world. Everything has been turned upside down over the past month or so, it has been utterly crazy. But a very, very good kind of crazy.
We were relieved to see some of our fans turned up to our gigs over the past fortnight. Well, I say some, when I mean thousands! Every concert of our Gold Tour has sold out completely, and every concert so far has been unbelievable, with everyone being so receptive and so supportive. Not to mention completely bonkers!
A quick mention about the Smash Hits Awards 2001. As the most prestigious award show in pop you can imagine just how delighted we all were to be asked to perform at the event. When we were told that you had voted us for 3 awards including the 'Best Live Act' and given us a placing in the 'Smash Hits Awards - Hall Of Fame' we just hit the roof! We were so excited that for that night all five of us were as hyper as H. I know, hard to believe isn't it? To celebrate we had our own concert at Wembley to perform at, it was a real party atmosphere. I hope we lived up to our 'best live act' status?
Our single Words Are Not Enough went in at No.5 last Sunday. And just when I thought things couldn't get any better we found out that our album Gold has now sold over 1 million copies in 2 months turning 4 x Platinum. No matter what the critics say, when our album of songs from our 5 year career goes to No.1 for 3 weeks and sells that many copies it means the people that matter like what we're doing. And those people are our fans - you.
Thank-you so much for supporting us and allowing us the chance to entertain you all. It means a lot to all of us.
Keep a watch on the TV over the next week as we'll be popping up and I'll see you all on tour if you're going. Don't forget to check out our Single and Christmas feature on the site for a behind the scenes of the video Words Are Not Enough. Also for those of you that weren't able to make it to our tour don't worry as we've arranged with Sky Box Office to have the concert on the 22nd Dec to be filmed and broadcasted. See the site for more info.
Phew! I'm out of here. I thought my fingers were about to drop off with all that typing. I'll be talking to you all soon.
Love you,
Lee
P.S. worked out the meaning of my little code in the album thanku's? hehe

News On The New Single

Despite the fact that we are recieving contradicting reports about the new single being Baby Don't Dance, H confirmed again yesterday that it WILL be STEPS' new single and will be out early next year.
The follow up single will more than likely be the excellent Left You Behind taken from their new album Step Two, which is due for release in May 2002.
You can find the lyrics for Left You Behind on the lyrics page - so get learning them now!

Christmas Crackers - Part 1 - Lisa

As Christmas is nearly upon us we've decided to fill you in on some of STEPS fave Christmas moments. In todays part Lisa tells us why Christmas is a family affair in her house...

"This is my favourite time of the year! And I always spend it with my crazy family. My Dad's a bit of a comedian and with three brothers it's pretty mad! My brothers get up really early - at about six - and they come and wake me straight away. I go out the night before though so usually I haven't been in bed very long. I'm always like, 'just a couple more hours guys!'"

"My bestest Christmas present ever was a huge dollhouse that I was given when I was about 13. I've always loves dollhouses and this one was amazing - it had working lights and everything! My Dad spent the whole of Christmas day wiring it all up but when he came into my bedroom on Boxing Day to wake me up he accidently tripped over the wire and oulled the entire lighting system out! I was devastated! Actually I still want a dollhouse now to replace the one I lost.."

STEPS Down Under

We've had a lot of mail from STEPS fans in Oz this week asking us to mention that Gold is available there now.
We have said this before but it's always nice to give them a boost in other countrys so why not go online at www.hmv.com.au and treat yourself to an import copy of Gold.
It includes two previously unreleased re-mixes of Tragedy and 5,6,7,8.

Baby Don't Dance Info

We've recieved a suspected tracklisting for STEPS' new single, Baby Don't Dance, this is not official and hasn't been conformed yet, but it sounds pretty good.

CD1:
1)Baby Don't Dance (radio edit) 3:49
2)Baby Don't Dance (w.i.p. remix) 6:44
3)Run To You 4:33

CD2
1)Baby Don't Dance (u.s mix) 3:22
2)One For Sorrow (almighty mix) 5:44
3)Human Touch (senser w.i.p. mix) 6:06

Despite this and the fact that H has been telling everyone that Baby Don't Dance is definately the new single, there are rumours circulating at Jive that the next track will be taken from their new album, Step Two, and will be called Tonight.
Tonight is co-written by H and Lisa and is a great choice as a single, but I reckon they should release Baby Don't Dance first and use Tonight as a follow up.
Looking at the tracklisting for Baby Don't Dance I'm a little dubious about it.
I first heard the song Run To You last year shortly before Buzz was released as it was a provisionary track on the album.
Human Touch is a great upbeat pop song and was used as a bonus track on the Japanese version of Buzz.

Steppy Stuff

If you saw STEPS on Showtime At The Stadium on Sunday afternoon you'll know how utterly fabulous their live performance of Tragedy was. It was the version used in the hit musical Saturday Night Fever and I've added the musical version lyrics to the lyric page. For other updates see the What's New? page.

This weeks Talking Point will take place on Thursday so if you have any comments or questions that you'd like us to answer send them into us at stepshomeuk@aol.com by tomorrow night

Christmas Crackers - Part 2 - Lee

In Part Two of Christmas Special LEE tells us why matching jumpers and fried egg sandwiches are all part of the Christmas fun in his house...

"I try to spend Christmas with my family - but usually it's quite civilised! We open our prezzies over breakfast cos we don't normally have a big sit-down brekkie. My Dad makes the best fried egg sandwiches so we sit by the fire with the tree lights and egg sarnies on our laps - it's dead nice! My Dad's dead cheeky and gets really excited. He always has about four or five presents that he's already opened cos he couldn't wait. He tries to hide them by tucking them down the sides of the chairs so no one will notice!"

"I know a lot of people have a kip in the afternoon after lunch but I never do cos I really enjoy seeing everyone. After dinner me, my Mum, dad and sisters, Carly, pop round to my Grandparents' house. Me and my Dad both got the same jumper from them one Christmas. Bless their hearts! I love 'em loads but it was brown with snowflakes on it. Yuck! I wore it once but that was about it."

In part three tomorrow find out why CLAIRE was never destined to be an angel!

Lisa's Best Bits Of 2001

Best Moment:
When our Greatest Hits album, Gold, went to number one in the charts. It was a fantastic moment for the whole band - we were really excited. One of the best moments for me in 2001 was when my three brother's band, 3SL, got a record deal.

Most Embarrasssing:
On the Gold tour, H had a habit of pinching my bum all the time whilst on syage. One time he grabbed a little too hard and the material from my trousers came off in his hand. I was showing a little bit of buttock for the rest of the show.

Worst Moment:
Watching the September 11th terroist attack on television. It made me physically ill, it was so shocking.

Faye's Hopes For The Future

Faye tells the News Of The World what she wants for 2002:
"On a personal front I want a lovely wedding in the summer and on a professional front I want even more success for STEPS"
(As you can tell almost everything in the press was done before the split.)

Steppy Stuff

CD:UK magazine is out now and has an interview with H about what he reckons he'll be doing next year. It's actually very interesting as he doesn't mention STEPS at all! In fact the only thing related to STEPS he talks about is he and Claire going to a party together.
There's also a look into the future for Lisa and her brother Steve which is a nice feature.
