LEE DENIES 'THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL' WAS MOVED!
LEE has issued a statement about the story that STEPS had moved the release date of their next single, IT'S THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL, to avoid ckashing with rival chart topers Westlife. LEE has said that the release date was always intended to be the 11th December and that STEPS do not release Christmas records as such.
EXTRA TOUR DATE FOR MANCHESTER!
STEPS fans from Manchester will get another chance to see the fab five's STEPS Into Christmas tour on Thursday 21st December at 7.30pm. Tickets went on sale this morning.

FAYE TO SING SOLO?
There are rumours circulating that FAYE will be releasing a solo single next year with dance act Shanks & Bigfoot. The single will be R DANCING, the song that FAYE wrote and performed for the last STEPS tour.
We do not know how true this rumour is, but we will bring you more news on it if we get any.

LEE AND THE TWEENIES!
STEPS star LEE LATCHFORD EVANS is among a roster of songwriters and producers working on an album for children's TV sensations THE TWEENIES.
Lee's song 'Party' follows the success of The Tweenies' current single 'No 1', which looks set to be a Top 10 hit in the UK this Sunday (November 5), though there are no plans to release it as a single. The UK equivalent of Blackstreet and Busta Rhymes contributing to the 'Rugrats' soundtrack is scheduled for inclusion on the album 'Forever Friends', due for release in the UK on 13 November by BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC.
Other artists contributing to the album include writers and producers previously involved with Take That, Vengaboys and Billie Piper.
In the albums chart, Steps' third album 'Buzz' is set for a high new entry on Sunday (5 November), but looks unlikely to outsell U2's comeback album 'All That You Can't Leave Behind'

Sporty Spice Mel C has launched an astonishing attack on a number of pop acts including STEPS! Speaking at the Spice Girls album launch party Melanie Chisholm ranted and raved about STEPS, A1 and Westlife to name but a few.
"Westlife are a bunch of ****s," said Sporty: "A useless bunch of talentless tossers and they don't deserve to be in the charts, let alone No1. I think it's f***ing disgusting that bands like A1, STEPS and Westlife get to No1. It's all crap -marketed rubbish. "
Melanie then turned her attention to ex band mate Geri Halliwell and her love interest Robbie Williams...
"He's just a cabaret singer. He should f*** off for a couple of years because I reckon everyone's getting sick of him.

FAYE AND LEE GET MOTOR MANIA!
Two members of British pop supergroup, Steps, have discovered the fun and practicality of getting about town on bikes - and they've chosen Honda for their choice of two-wheel transport.
Steps, who have enjoyed eight top ten hits since their first single in 1997, sold more albums in the UK last year than any other band and have sold a staggering four million albums and seven million singles across the world.
Band member, Lee Latchford Evans, has already passed his motorcycle test and now owns a Honda CBR600F. One of the most popular sports machines in the world, the CBR600 boasts a 0-60mph time of about four seconds and a top speed approaching 170mph.
"I don't use my Honda for outright speed though!" says 25-year-old Lee. "It's nice to know the power's there if you want it but the CBR is just a great machine for getting around London and visiting my parents in Chester whenever I get the time."
His Steps colleague, Faye Tozer, also 25, is planning to take her compulsory Basic Training before moving on to the full motorcycle test as soon as she is able.
"I'm really jealous of Lee," says Faye, from Northampton, "and I can't wait to pass my test and get a bigger bike. I love scooters though and I think I'll get around on one of those in the meantime to get as much experience as I can."
Lee and Faye are pictured sitting on one of Honda's latest offerings in the burgeoning scooter market, the @125 (pronounced 'at 125'). This is a 125cc automatic four-stroke scooter aimed at fashion conscious urban riders to beat in style the growing congestion in Britain's towns and cities.

Looks like those STEPS girls are finally earning some proper cash. Lisa Scott Lee bought a North London flat last month for £250,000. But when she came to move in she realised it was too small.
So she bought a bigger one next door for an extra £100,000.

STEPS TO STAR WITH THEIR C.H.U.M.S
As we all know part of the fun of STEPS appearing on Ant & Dec's Saturday morning show sm:tv, is the fact that they are always keen to take part in the comedy sketch C.H.U.M.S in which the Geordie duo and their co presenter Cat, take off the hit US show F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
The sketches have proved so popular with viewers that a video of the best bits has now been released and STEPS are on it!

SORE STEPS!
STEPS star Claire Richards has hit back at Mel C after she slammed the popsters as: "Crap, marketed rubbish."
Defending the bubblegum band, Claire said: "I don't know why Mel C picked on us when we come from the same place as the Spice Girls.
"I think it's very sad that one of our peers should have said what she did and it really hurts. Normally you have to be thick skinned about it - but this criticism was especially hurtful."

BAND RETRACE STEPS ON BUTLINS STAGE
STEPS kick off their winter tour at a Butlins holiday resort tonight. The band are to appear at Butlins in Minehead, Somerset, where STEPS members H, a former redcoat, and LISA both set out on the path to stardom in the mid-1990s.
"LISA worked as a visiting cabaret act during the two years I was there but our paths never met," said H.
Butlins gave H one of his earliest breaks, when he came second in a talent competition with his brother, singing You Are My Sunshine.
Other memorable moments include the time when, working as a children's entertainer, he had to dress up as a giant pink pig.
The STEPS concert is being held in the specially constructed Big Top Arena in front of 6,000 fans. Signing the band, along with other popular music acts Five, Atomic Kitten, Scooch and Abba tribute band Bjorn Again, is "the crowning glory of Butlins biggest-ever winter programme," marketing director Ken Johnston says.
"This makes a statement about the changes at Butlins but also reaffirms the importance of our homegrown talent, since H was a redcoat at Minehead," he said.

STOMP WAS STEPS LAST SINGLE OF 2000!
STEPS will not be releasing any more singles this year, their next single, IT'S THE WAY YOU MAKE ME FEEL, has had it's release date put back to January 2001. It will be released with a b-side called TELL ME WHY, that CLAIRE sings as her solo on the STEPS Into Christmas tour.
There has been no reason given for changing the release date, but we will keep you up to date with any further news.

FAYE STOMPS OUT RUMOURS!
FAYE has stomped out rumours of her quitting the band and of a pregnancy in a note to her fans on stepsofficial.com
She says:
Hi everyone,
I felt I had to quickly get a message to you all to put straight a few rumours going around at the moment. I heard about them on Friday and they are simply not true!! I am not pregnant, and I am most certainly NOT leaving STEPS. I wish that rumour would just go away as it never had any ounce of truth in it in the first place!
I'm having the time of my life with the other guys with our Christmas tour kicking off this week and our new album out too which I am extremely proud of, especially as we all had a hand in writing for it.
OK, now that's out the way lets get back to having a good time and enjoying STEPS!

FAYE'S NO DOLLY BIRD!
STEPS singer FAYE TOZER has an unusual request for her fans -- she wants them to stab their STEPS dolls with pins.
Figurines containing a special chip programmed with a full CD quality version of "Tragedy" are on British toy shop shelves, and the mini-stars can sing on demand.
And FAYE says, "I'd use mine as a voodoo doll and stick pins in it. If you really hate us, go get your doll and stick some pins in us, it might make you feel better."

CLAIRE IS A DIY DISASTER!
Claire Richards from STEPS has revealed her recent toilet mishap during a video chat with worldpop!
The singer has been indulging in a spot of DIY in her new home, which has left her, and us, very much under the impression that she should stick to singing, dancing and songwriting. 'The other day I had a great idea about the toilet seat in my bathroom. I bought some paint and did the crackle glaze effect, and it went totally wrong. I had to throw it away.'
The hapless Claire then forgot to buy a new seat on her frantic visit to a high street DIY store and now has to perch while she pees.
While Claire admits to having a 'brain like a sieve', worldpop thinks it might be her new pink hair that's causing her brain to malfunction. 'I decided to go for a change because my hair's always been blonde and the same, so I thought I'd do something outrageous.'
